Old Fashioned Pancakes
My best pancake recipe, easy and quick!
Pancakes like in the United States, very soft with my preparation tip: let the dough rest for 5 minutes, guaranteed result!
You won’t stop making them when you’ve tested and understood that it’s ultra easy and above all good… Brunch, breakfast or snack, everyone will love them!
I made several attempts before arriving at this recipe that I have not changed since and which has been adopted by many Internet users.
Depending on what I eat my pancakes with, I vary the taste slightly: you can add a little vanilla. I also tried to make it chocolate by adding a tablespoon of unsweetened cocoa to the flour. This is ideal to taste them with spread.
This dish is supposed to be enjoyed for breakfast but is also suitable as a dessert.
Pancakes are traditionally made with maple syrup and a knob of butter, but nothing prevents them from being devoured with sugar, lemon juice or spread.
Ingredients :
•1 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
•3 1/2 teaspoons baking powder
•1 teaspoon salt
•1 tablespoon white sugar
•3 tablespoons butter, melted
•1 egg
•1 1/4 cups milk
•cooking spray
Directions :
➔Sift together flour, baking powder, salt, and sugar in a large bowl.
➔Whisk in melted butter, egg, and milk until combined. Let batter rest for 5 minutes. Preheat a large skillet over medium-high heat. Spray with cooking spray.
➔Pour batter into the hot skillet, about 1/4 cup of batter for each pancake. Cook for 2 to 3 minutes, until bubbles appear on the sides and center of each pancake. Flip and cook until golden, about 1 to 2 minutes. Makes 12 pancakes. Enjoy!
Here are some top tips for customizing your pancakes:
●Replace the sugar with agave syrup.
●Make a layer cake with large pancakes, putting fruit and whipped cream between the pancakes.
●Put blueberries on the dough before turning the pancakes, or even chocolate chips or spread.
●Flavor the dough: Put a little bitter almond flavoring in the dough or rum or orange blossom water, or even orange zest.
