Apple Butter
Amazing easy and simple homemade apple butter! It’s inexpensive and tastes better than anything you can buy at any store anywhere! Simply put this on the stove and enjoy.
Are you officially dropping out yet? The leaves haven’t yet turned orange and red, but last week our whole house was filled with the scent of apple and cinnamon bread. Who needs an official date? The fall was happening.
Who needs an official date to be considered a downfall? Fall was happening a week ago on my radar.
Autumn is my favorite time of the year. You’ll find me sitting around a campfire, drinking warm cider… what could be better than that?
Well, maybe this is.
I don’t really know what to say about this homemade apple butter besides it’s really easy and it’s incredibly good.
It’s one of those things that you take a spoonful of and say, “This can go into so many recipes!”
Ingredients:
●6 1/2 pounds apples peeled, cored and sliced
●1/2 cup granulated sugar
●1/2 cup packed brown sugar
●1 1/2 tablespoons ground cinnamon
●1/4 teaspoon salt
●1 tablespoon vanilla extract
Instructions:
➔Step1: Place the apples in a slow cooker.
➔Step2: Add the sugars, cinnamon, salt and vanilla to the crockpot. Mix well.
➔Step3: Cook in slow cooker on low for about 10 hours, stirring every couple hours. The apple butter should be thick and dark brown.
➔Step4: If desired, use a blender to puree the apple butter until smooth.
➔Step5: Cover and refrigerate for up to two weeks or freeze in small containers
