Chock full of creamy Pistachio flavor, marshmallows, nuts and topped with Maraschino Cherries, this yummy treat was served at every holiday meal my Great-Grandmother ever cooked for us.
She used Dream Whip instead of Cool Whip, but other than that, this is her recipe handed down through the generations. Some people might call it old-fashioned but we call it a classic and still make it to this day. Enjoy!
Sweet, fluffy, Watergate Salad is a classic recipe made with pistachio pudding, pineapple, marshmallows, chopped nuts, and Cool Whip.
Watergate Salad is one of those traditional, sweet, fluffy “salads” that you find at every southern gathering whether
it’s on the Easter dinner table or something brought to a summer pot luck.
3.4 ounce pack instant piistachio pudding blend
20 oz can of crushed, undrained pineapple
2 cups mini marshmallow
1/2 cup chopped pecans
8 oz container, cold whisk, thawed
* Directions :
Start by mixing together the dry pudding mix, crushed pineapple, baby marshmallows, and chopped walnuts.Then add the melted cold whip until everything is well mixed.
Cool the Pratunam salad before serving.
