German chocolate pecan pie bars
A perfect, wholesome, fat-free, refined sugar-free oatmeal full of apple, pear, and nuts to start your day off right! You sent A lunch you can make on Sunday and eat all week, why not? A lunch that satisfies you and gives you energy until dinner, even better! I’ve been swearing by oatmeal for over a year now, did you know? My breakfast every morning for ages, for its perfect protein and energy boost, and its extra antioxidant benefits, especially when paired with cinnamon. I add flax seeds, chia seeds, almond milk and seasonal fruits to make it a complete meal.
But the fact remains that sometimes it becomes redundant… So we have to change! You sent This delicious oatmeal, taken from Angela Liddon’s vegan cooking bible ”Oh She Glows”, can be made in the oven and is easily reheated in the microwave. It is dense and tasty, very little sweet in flavor but very fruity.
It combines chewy and crunchy in every bite and will leave you feeling full. A perfect oatmeal for those who don’t like the chewy, wet look of traditional oatmeal. This one is well taken and looks more like a dense cake.
We could do it with all kinds of seasonal fruits and various nuts, and adapt it according to our moods. It’s a good recipe to feed the family without breaking the bank, in a healthy way!
Ingredients:
9 square graham crackers
60 ml (¼ cup) melted salted butter
250 ml (1 cup) unsweetened finely grated coconut
180 ml (¾ cup) dark or milk chocolate chips
180 ml pecans, coarsely chop
180 ml (half a cup) sweetened condensed milk
Preparation :
Place the grill in the middle of the oven. Heat the oven to 180°C (350°F).
Line a 20 cm (8 in) square tray with two strips of parchment paper, letting them hang on each side.
For reservations.
Cover the bottom of the pan with cake.
Break it down as needed. Sprinkle the biscuits with butter and spread the coconut on them, pressing lightly.
Sprinkling wiith chocolate chiips & walnuts. Pour the sweetened condensed milk.
Bake for 30 minutes or until filling is golden. Let it cool completely. Unpeeled and cut into 18 bars.
