Homemade Bread

An easy bread recipe made with simple ingredients and detailed instructions showing how to make bread! The best homemade bread recipe for beginners and bakers alike.

Homemade bread is one of my all-time favorite foods. Can you know the name of this site?! There’s nothing quite like a warm slice of fresh bread served with a thick piece of butter on top. Mmmmmm! This recipe is perfect.

It’s easy to follow, and takes about two hours to make and produce two wonderful loaves of bread. It’s versatile too, so feel free to use a portion of whole wheat flour if you’d like. Spread butter over it when it comes out of the oven and has cooled partially, and everyone will thank you.

I love cooking and am a quite confident baker, however, one thing I struggled with was finding a really great baking recipe. I know – the kind of funny existence where there are a zillion outside and baking is one of those “basic” that almost anyone can make themselves.

However, I keep trying new recipes and finally found one that I really like and got good results from it! Even better – it’s easy and takes from start to finish just over two hours!

If you have never made bread before, here is the basic formula for making your own bread at home. My recipe below follows this exactly. It’s so much easier and trust me, the smell of freshly baked bread will get everyone really excited for dinner!

Ingredients

●2 Cups of Warm Water

●2/3 Cup Honey

●1 3/4 Tablespoons Active Dry Yeast

●1 1/2 Teaspoons Salt

●6 Cups Bread Flour

Directions

In a large mixing bowl, whisk together warm water and honey until honey is dissolved. Add yeast, and cover with a towel.

In about 10-20 minutes, your mixture should look delightfully frothy.

Mix in your salt, and then add the bread flour one cup at a time. (Use the whisk for the first three cups and then switch to a wooden spoon or silicone spatula for the last three cups.)

Add a little extra flour to your hands and knead the dough, about 5 minutes. (Knead the dough right in the large mixing bowl. It keeps your counter cleaner.) Place kneaded dough in a large, greased bowl and cover with towel.

After an hour, your dough should have risen significantly.

Punch the dough for awhile then knead again for a couple of minutes. *Divide into two lightly-greased loaf pans and cover with your towel once more.

After allowing the dough to rise for 30 minutes in the loaf pans, bake in a preheated oven at 325 for 30-35 minutes.

A lot of bread recipes use an oven at 350, 325 works better if you use honey.

➤That’s it, all you have to do is Enjoy !
