Cheesy Slow Cooker Lasagna: A Perfect Comfort Food for Any Occasion

Lasagna is a classic Italian dish that has been a family favorite for generations. However, making lasagna from scratch can be a time-consuming and tedious task. Fortunately, with a slow cooker, you can make a delicious and cheesy lasagna with minimal effort. In this article, we will provide you with a recipe for cheesy slow cooker lasagna that will satisfy your cravings and delight your taste buds.

Ingredients:

1 lb. ground beef
1 onion, chopped
2 cloves garlic, minced
1 tsp. salt
1 tsp. dried basil
1 tsp. dried oregano
1 jar (24 oz.) pasta sauce
1 can (14.5 oz.) diced tomatoes, undrained
1 cup water
12 lasagna noodles, uncooked
1 container (15 oz.) ricotta cheese
2 cups shredded mozzarella cheese
1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese

Instructions:

In a large skillet, cook the ground beef, onion, and garlic over medium heat until the meat is no longer pink. Drain the excess fat.

Stir in the salt, basil, and oregano.

In a separate bowl, combine the pasta sauce, diced tomatoes, and water.

Spoon a layer of the meat mixture into the bottom of a 6-quart slow cooker. Place three lasagna noodles on top of the meat mixture, breaking them if necessary to fit. Spread a layer of ricotta cheese over the noodles, followed by a layer of the pasta sauce mixture. Sprinkle with mozzarella and Parmesan cheese.

Repeat the layers, starting with the meat mixture and ending with the cheese mixture. Cover and cook on low heat for 4-5 hours or until the noodles are tender.

Let the lasagna rest for 10-15 minutes before serving.

Tips:

If you prefer a vegetarian lasagna, you can substitute the ground beef with mushrooms or tofu.
To make the lasagna healthier, you can use whole wheat lasagna noodles and reduce the amount of cheese used.
You can also add your favorite vegetables, such as spinach or zucchini, to the lasagna to increase its nutritional value.

Conclusion:

Cheesy slow cooker lasagna is a perfect comfort food that is easy to make and tastes delicious. With the recipe provided above, you can make a lasagna that is full of flavor and rich in cheese.
