Homemade Chicago Style Deep Dish Pizza Recipe

Here’s how you can make your own homemade Chicago-style deep-dish pizza.
➤ Ingredients:
For the crust:
●3 cups all-purpose flour
●1/4 cup yellow cornmeal
●1 tablespoon sugar
●1 teaspoon salt
●1/4 cup unsalted butter, melted
●1/4 cup vegetable oil
●1/2 cup warm water
●1 tablespoon instant yeast
For the sauce:
●1 can (28 ounces) crushed tomatoes
●1 teaspoon dried basil
●1 teaspoon dried oregano
●1/2 teaspoon salt
●1/4 teaspoon black pepper
For the toppings:
●2 cups shredded mozzarella cheese
●1/2 pound Italian sausage, cooked and crumbled
●1/2 cup sliced pepperoni
●1/2 cup sliced black olives
●1/4 cup diced green pepper
➤ How to make it :
1- To make the crust, combine the flour, cornmeal, sugar, and salt in a large bowl.
2- In a separate bowl, whisk together the melted butter, vegetable oil, warm water, and yeast.
3- Add the wet ingredients to the dry ingredients and stir until a dough forms.
4- Knead the dough on a lightly floured surface for 5 minutes until it becomes smooth.
5- Place the dough in a greased bowl and cover with a towel. Let it rise for 1 hour.
6- Preheat the oven to 425 degrees F.
7- In a separate bowl, mix together the crushed tomatoes, basil, oregano, salt, and black pepper.
8- Grease a 9-inch deep dish pizza pan with cooking spray.
9- Roll out the dough into a circle and place it into the prepared pan. Press the dough up the sides of the pan and trim off any excess dough.
10 – Sprinkle half of the shredded mozzarella cheese onto the crust.
11- Add the cooked Italian sausage, sliced pepperoni, black olives, and diced green pepper.
12- Pour the tomato sauce over the top of the toppings.
13- Sprinkle the remaining shredded mozzarella cheese over the sauce.
14- Bake the pizza for 30-35 minutes, or until the crust is golden brown and the cheese is melted and bubbly.
15- Let the pizza cool for a few minutes before slicing and serving.
