In this article, we’ll guide you through the steps to create golden-brown, crunchy shrimp morsels that are so good, you won’t be able to stop at just one. From selecting the freshest shrimp to achieving the crispiest coating, we’ve got you covered. So, roll up your sleeves, fire up that stove, and get ready to embark on a culinary adventure that will leave your taste buds dancing with delight.

The Essential Ingredients:

  • 2 tsp of paprika
  • 2 tsp of oregano
  • 1/2 cup of whole milk
  • 1 1/2 tsp of salt or to taste
  • for frying: oil.
  • 1/2 tsp of black pepper or to taste
  • 1 lb of raw shrimp deveined and peeled
  • 1 cup of all-purpose flour
  • 2 tsp of granulated garlic

The Step-by-Step Process:

Add to a large bowl the milk, 1/2 tsp salt, 1 tsp paprika, 1 tsp oregano, 1 tsp granulated garlic, and shrimp, then let it sit for 10 minutes.

And season the all-purpose flour with the remaining salt, granulated garlic paprika, oregano, then black pepper.

Then remove the shrimp from the milk mixture and coat well with the seasoned flour. And make sure to coat the shrimp really well with lots of seasoned flour. Then you should not be able to see your shrimp under the flour.

After this fry the shrimp for 3 to 4 minutes or until crispy in oil. And the oil should be about 375 degrees F.

After all that remove the shrimp from the oil, then place it on a plate with a paper towel.

And serve immediately and enjoy.

Pro Tips for success :

Maintain Oil Temperature: Use a thermometer to monitor the oil temperature. Keeping it steady at 350°F (175°C) ensures a crispy exterior and perfectly cooked shrimp.

Quality Matters: Opt for large, fresh shrimp for the best results. The larger size allows for a nice contrast between the crunchy coating and tender shrimp.

Double Coating: For an even crispier texture, you can double-coat the shrimp by dipping them in the egg and breadcrumbs mixture twice.

Rest Before Frying: After breading the shrimp, let them rest for a few minutes. This helps the coating adhere better and prevents it from falling off during frying.
