Air Fryer Baked Potato: A Delicious and Easy Recipe
Baked potatoes are a classic comfort food that’s been a staple on dinner tables for generations. They’re easy to make, versatile, and perfect as a side dish or a meal on their own. However, traditional oven-baked potatoes can take up to an hour to cook, and they can heat up your kitchen on a hot day. That’s where the air fryer comes in! This convenient appliance can cook a perfect baked potato in half the time, with a crispy skin and a fluffy interior. In this article, we’ll show you how to make air fryer baked potatoes, step by step.
— Ingredients Needed :
▢4 medium russet potatoes
▢½ cup water
▢2 Tbsp coarse salt
▢oil spray, or 1 Tbsp oil
TO GARNISH:
▢Sour Cream
▢Grated Cheddar
▢Chives, chopped
▢Bacon Pieces
▢Pepper
— How To Make It :
Preheat Air Fryer to 400 degrees F. Scrub potatoes and lightly pierce with a fork several times.
In a bowl combine water and salt, stir until the salt has dissolved. Toss potatoes in the saltwater until evenly coated.
Place potatoes in the Air Fryer basket and cook for 40-45 minutes (see times for different sizes below).
After 30 minutes, spray potatoes with oil spray or brush with oil.
Potatoes are done when they reach an internal temperature of 205 degrees F.
If you don’t have a thermometer pierce with a fork, they should feel soft on the inside.
Take potatoes out of the Air Fryer and immediately cut skin with a knife in a criss-cross shape or straight so the steam can escape.
Serve topped with garnishes.
— Tips:
- If your air fryer is on the smaller side, you may need to cook the potatoes in batches to avoid overcrowding.
- If you like your potatoes extra crispy, you can increase the cooking time by a few minutes.
- Feel free to experiment with different seasonings, such as garlic powder or paprika, to give your potatoes some extra flavor.
— Variations:
- Loaded baked potatoes: Top your air fryer baked potatoes with your favorite toppings, such as cheese, bacon, sour cream, and chives.
- Sweet potato fries: Cut sweet potatoes into fry shapes and toss with olive oil and your preferred seasoning. Air fry at 400°F (200°C) for 15-20 minutes, shaking the basket occasionally, until crispy.
- Garlic parmesan potatoes: Mix minced garlic, grated parmesan cheese, and olive oil in a bowl. Toss with cubed potatoes and air fry at 400°F (200°C) for 20-25 minutes, or until crispy.
